You are hands-on and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, including platform, SRE, and product engineering, to deliver high-quality services. Your strong execution skills and ownership of deliverables make you a key player in any team.

You are proficient in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and have experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Your knowledge of infrastructure as code and automation tools like Ansible enables you to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. You understand the importance of monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and reliability of services.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You are comfortable participating in on-call support rotations and shift-based work aligned with U.S. Pacific Time business hours. Your ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure is a testament to your resilience and commitment to excellence.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI is a plus. What you'll do

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Five9, you will design, implement, and automate components of large-scale distributed cloud systems. You will build tools and workflows to enhance availability, scalability, and operational efficiency, ensuring that our cloud platform meets the demands of our customers. Collaborating closely with engineering and delivery teams, you will deploy high-quality services that contribute to an exceptional customer experience.

You will take ownership of the operational aspects of our cloud infrastructure, implementing best practices for monitoring, incident management, and capacity planning. Your role will involve troubleshooting complex issues and providing solutions that enhance system reliability. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our DevOps processes, advocating for automation and efficiency in all aspects of our operations.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. You will participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on architecture and design, ensuring that our systems are built to scale and perform optimally.
