Who you are

You have a solid background in site reliability engineering, with experience in monitoring and maintaining production systems. You understand the importance of reliability and performance in infrastructure, and you are skilled in using tools like AWS and Docker to achieve these goals. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, engaging with engineering teams to integrate reliability best practices into the product roadmap. Your experience with incident response has equipped you with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime for critical systems. You are proficient in Linux and have a good grasp of scripting languages like Python, which you use to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency. You are familiar with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, which you leverage to maintain system health and performance metrics.

Desirable

Experience with Kubernetes is a plus, as it allows you to manage containerized applications effectively. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines will also enhance your ability to support deployment processes and ensure smooth transitions from development to production.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the availability, capacity, and throughput of Fivetran's production infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement automation for scalable deployments, contributing to the overall reliability of the data platform. Your role will involve initial incident response, where you will work alongside senior SREs to address critical issues as they arise. You will also support the deployment pipeline, ensuring that new features and updates are rolled out smoothly without impacting system performance. As a key player in the SRE team, you will help maintain 100% availability of production infrastructure, proactively identifying potential issues before they escalate. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of Fivetran's services, helping organizations leverage data effectively.
