Your proficiency in Excel is complemented by experience with agriculture or ERP systems, which enhances your ability to manage complex financial data effectively. You thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal environment and are adept at navigating the financial nuances of agricultural production.

Your educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, which has equipped you with the foundational knowledge necessary for this role. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to track and analyze crop costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and harvest-related expenses. You are also familiar with preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

What you'll do

As a Senior Accountant at GHJ, you will manage grower accounting activities, including settlement statements, grower billings, advances, and cost allocations. You will track and analyze crop costs, ensuring that all financial data related to labor, materials, overhead, and harvest-related expenses is accurately recorded and reported. Your role will involve preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities to maintain the integrity of the general ledger accounts related to farming operations and production costs.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with operations, ranch managers, and field teams to ensure accurate cost reporting. You will assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis, providing insights that will help guide decision-making processes. Additionally, you will support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
