You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building and maintaining production systems that scale effectively. You are familiar with DevSecOps principles and understand how to integrate security into the software development lifecycle. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are skilled at debugging complex issues that arise in distributed systems. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is a key strength.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus. Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in software development can set you apart. What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the GitLab Operate team, you will focus on delivering and supporting GitLab for self-managed customers. Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our deployment options, ensuring that our tools are reliable and efficient. You will work closely with the Omnibus GitLab and GitLab Helm Charts, contributing to the development of the GitLab Environment Toolkit.

You will collaborate with other engineers to design and implement automation solutions that enhance the user experience for our customers. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the deployment process, ensuring that our customers have a seamless experience. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
