Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. Your background includes cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms, and you are comfortable engaging with technical stakeholders or executive leaders. You possess experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops, which allows you to effectively communicate complex technical concepts.
You have a proven track record of selling technical solutions in areas such as Infrastructure Modernization, Application Modernization, Data Management, Data Analytics, Cloud AI, Networking, Migrations, and Security. Your ability to build long-term technical strategies helps uncover new workloads with customers, and you are skilled at migrating applications and services to cloud platforms. You thrive in driving the entire business cycle, from defining delivery and consumption plans to transitioning them for execution.
What you'll do
As a Platform Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will serve as the customerβs primary technical partner and trusted advisor, engaging in technical-led conversations to understand their business issues. Your role involves troubleshooting technical questions and developing delivery plans for customers, ensuring that you lead the technical engagement throughout the solution phase. You will facilitate the post-sales transition by supporting pricing activities and transitioning the final delivery plan to implementation teams. Maintaining awareness of progress against the delivery plan is crucial, as you will provide support to cross-functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration, or implementation phases.
