Google is hiring a Customer Engineer II for their Platform team to engage with customers and drive cloud solutions. You'll work with cloud engineering and virtualization technologies in locations like Chicago and Detroit.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role. Your background includes cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, and familiarity with virtualization and containerization platforms. You excel in engaging with technical stakeholders and presenting complex solutions to executive leaders, showcasing your strong communication skills.

Your experience includes programming languages, debugging, systems design, and conducting customer workshops. You have a proven track record of selling technical solutions in areas such as infrastructure modernization, application modernization, and data management. You are adept at building long-term technical strategies and uncovering new workloads with customers, demonstrating your strategic thinking and relationship-building skills.

You are knowledgeable about security concepts, including encryption, identity management, and access control. Your ability to prospect and maintain customer relationships from scratch is complemented by your enthusiasm for building out Greenfield territories. You thrive in environments where you can drive the entire business cycle, from defining delivery plans to supporting implementation teams.

Desirable

Experience with cloud AI and migrations is a plus, as is familiarity with data analytics and networking. You are comfortable navigating complex technical discussions and can effectively transition from pre-sales to post-sales support, ensuring a seamless experience for customers.

What you'll do

As a Customer Engineer II at Google Cloud, you will lead technical engagements during the solution phase, working closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. You will facilitate the post-sales transition by supporting pricing activities and ensuring that the final delivery plan is effectively implemented by cross-functional teams. Your role will involve maintaining awareness of progress against delivery plans and providing ongoing support during ramp-up, delivery, migration, or implementation phases.

You will collaborate with various teams to drive customer success and ensure that solutions are aligned with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include conducting workshops, demos, and presentations to showcase the value of Google Cloud solutions. You will also be involved in defining and refining technical strategies that help customers maximize their cloud investments.
