Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 5 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. You possess 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, along with 1 year of experience in software design and architecture. Your background includes 3 years of working with embedded operating systems, and you have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, ideally with 5 years of experience in this area. You may also have a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, and experience developing accessible technologies is a plus.

You are versatile and display leadership qualities, eager to tackle new problems across the full-stack as technology continues to evolve. You thrive in collaborative environments and are enthusiastic about driving innovation in audio software development. Your experience includes working on projects that require a deep understanding of embedded systems and audio technologies, and you are comfortable partnering with hardware teams and external vendors to deliver high-performance features.

What you'll do

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for building and maintaining stable, high-quality audio software throughout the development lifecycle. You will lead the design of audio APIs and infrastructure to ensure scalable system performance, collaborating closely with hardware teams to ship power-efficient, high-performance audio features. Your role will involve driving the innovation roadmap by identifying and scoping new audio feature opportunities, ensuring that the software you develop meets the needs of billions of users worldwide.

You will work on specific projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves.
