Overview

Google is seeking a Staff Silicon Design Verification Methodology Architect to lead SoC-level projects and develop custom silicon solutions. You'll work with System Verilog and UVM to enhance verification methodologies. This role requires 10+ years of experience in design verification and ASIC development.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience. With over 10 years of experience in Design Verification and Emulation, you have successfully led SoC-level projects from planning to closure. Your expertise in Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) development, particularly with System Verilog and Universal Verification Methodology, sets you apart in this field.

You may also have a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a focus on computer architecture. Your experience with digital systems based on AMBA Bus protocols like ACE/AXI/AHB/APB or similar complexity bus protocols is a significant asset. You are skilled in simulation acceleration using transactors or vendor-provided accelerated verification IP, and you have a strong background in performance analysis and debugging techniques in a lab environment, particularly during ASIC bringup and test development.

Your ability to build emulation environments using industry-standard platforms such as Zebu, HAPS, Palladium, or Virtualizer is crucial. You are passionate about pushing boundaries and developing custom silicon solutions that power innovative products. You understand the importance of integrating C-testbench execution with SV/UVM agents and checkers, and you are adept at implementing advanced techniques to maximize simulation throughput, such as thread-based mechanisms or dynamic testbench splitting.

Desirable

You have a keen interest in developing and integrating transactors, hardware-compliant VIPs, and reusable infrastructure components that transition smoothly between simulation and emulation. Your collaborative spirit and innovative mindset make you a valuable addition to any team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design verification methodology for silicon projects at Google. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the verification processes are efficient and effective, contributing to the overall success of the projects. You will leverage your extensive experience to guide the team in best practices for design verification and emulation, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

You will also be involved in the development of custom silicon solutions, working on innovative products that are loved by millions worldwide. Your contributions will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. You will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.

Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest advancements in design verification methodologies and tools, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes. You will collaborate with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring that projects stay on track and meet deadlines.

What we offer
