You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, along with 15 years of experience in engineering. Your leadership experience spans at least 10 years, where you've successfully led organizations of engineers and fostered a collaborative environment. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred, showcasing your commitment to continuous learning and expertise in your domain.

Your experience includes delivering hyperscale cloud services to enterprise customers, demonstrating your ability to manage complex projects and meet high standards of performance. You possess excellent people leadership skills, enabling you to manage intricate organizations effectively while ensuring that your team thrives in a fast-paced environment.

You are adept at working with supplier and partner teams to build solutions that leverage external capabilities, showcasing your strategic thinking and ability to influence stakeholders. Your communication skills allow you to present and simplify complex problems and solutions, making you an effective liaison between technical teams and senior management.

What you'll do

As the Director of Engineering for GCS Security and Compliance, you will be responsible for developing and implementing security architecture, policies, and controls to protect customer data. Your role will involve collaborating with multiple stakeholders across Google, including senior leaders within Cloud, to influence management offerings and contribute to the long-term strategy of Google Cloud Storage.

You will lead the GCS Security and Compliance team, ensuring that the service adheres to global regulatory and industry standards. This includes overseeing data encryption, access management, continuous monitoring, and auditing processes. Your strategic thought leadership will be crucial in driving innovation and reducing friction for customers, ultimately enhancing adoption of Google Cloud services.

You will work closely with customer-facing Googlers, partners, and customers to ensure that the solutions developed meet their needs and expectations. Your ability to navigate complex environments and collaborate across functions will be key to your success in this role.
