Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience, along with 15 years of experience in product design focused on consumer products. Your background includes a Master's degree or PhD in a technical field or an MBA, and you thrive in fast-paced, rapidly evolving technology environments. You possess a deep understanding of the AI/ML landscape, including foundational models, MLOps, and industry-specific AI applications. Your exceptional communication and people skills enable you to influence and inspire stakeholders effectively, and your strong technical acumen allows you to engage in deep technical discussions with engineers and researchers.

As a Principal Director, UX Design, you will own the design strategy and vision across both Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise. Your charter is to create a seamless and powerful ecosystem for enterprise AI, shaping unique experiences for developers and business users alike. You will operate as a key strategic partner to leadership across both product areas, collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, UX researchers, data scientists, and go-to-market teams. Your ability to translate complex user insights into actionable design solutions will deliver measurable value to customers, specifically embracing AI as a tool in your design process.

Desirable

Experience in leading design teams and mentoring junior designers is a plus. Familiarity with user-centered design principles and methodologies will enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will drive the ideation and design of solutions that empower developers to innovate while delivering tangible business outcomes. You will lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality outputs from your team. Your role will also involve engaging with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, which will inform the iterative design process. You will be responsible for presenting design concepts and strategies to leadership, articulating the rationale behind design decisions and their expected impact on user experience and business goals.
