Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. You possess at least 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems and have held a technical leadership role for 3 years. Additionally, you have 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership capacity. Your background may include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, and you have experience working in a complex cross-functional organization.
You are adept at managing project goals while contributing to product strategy and team development. Your technical expertise allows you to optimize your own code while ensuring that your engineers can optimize theirs. You thrive in environments where you guide teams across multiple locations and manage large product budgets, overseeing the deployment of large-scale projects internationally.
What you'll do
As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of engineers in the development of embedded systems and firmware. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in diagnostics operations, optimizing test efficiency, and addressing system health and reliability issues. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and key results (OKRs).
