Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your background includes 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. You possess deep knowledge of the storage software stack, SSD storage, Linux kernel, performance analysis, and C++. Your experience with data structures and algorithms spans at least 8 years, and you have spent 3 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction. You are comfortable working in a matrixed organization, collaborating on cross-functional or cross-business projects, and have experience with storage systems or devices, including qualification, management, and monitoring utilities, as well as SSD firmware.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop the next-generation technologies that change how users connect, explore, and interact with information. You will manage information and extend beyond web search, bringing ideas from various areas, including storage platforms, distributed computing, system design, security, and artificial intelligence. You will work on projects that are crucial to Googleβs needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. Your versatility and leadership qualities will be essential as you address new, full-stack issues to push technology forward. You will provide technical leadership to guide the team in making directional decisions and offer mentorship to team members. Additionally, you will improve the overall quality and velocity of engineering practices by introducing tools and processes, continuously advocating for good practices.
