Who you are

You have a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree and are admitted to the bar in good standing, with at least 3 years of relevant attorney-level experience in media and entertainment commercial marketing agreements. Your expertise includes truth in advertising, SAG-AFTRA, adtech, and consumer protection, allowing you to navigate complex legal landscapes effectively. You possess a strong understanding of advertising law, including FTC regulations, and have experience advising clients on structuring complex commercial transactions.

Your background includes drafting licenses and intellectual property agreements, advertising services agreements, and sales agreements. You are well-versed in media and content license language, copyright law, fair use, trademark law, and personality rights in the US. Excellent problem-solving skills are your forte, especially when it comes to contract interpretation and compliance with company policies.

Desirable

You have 5+ years of experience in a media, marketing, or advertising company or law firm, which enhances your ability to provide strategic legal counsel. Your familiarity with the creative aspects of marketing and the legal implications involved makes you a valuable asset to any team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support the Central Marketing Legal team at Google, handling the most creative aspects of the company's marketing initiatives. You will review, draft, and manage various agreements daily, ensuring they comply with company policies and risk tolerance. Your responsibilities will include advising on complex commercial transactions and improving standard form agreements and legal processes.

You will collaborate closely with marketing teams to ensure that all marketing materials and campaigns adhere to legal standards and regulations. Your role will involve continuous engagement with stakeholders to address legal risks and provide guidance on best practices in advertising and marketing law. You will also be responsible for managing agreements related to media buys and social media regulation, ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws.
