Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, and you have at least 3 years of experience in facility design and construction environments. Your expertise includes the design and operation of critical mechanical cooling systems such as HVAC, chillers, and fan coils. You thrive in cross-functional environments, collaborating with external vendors, design engineers, and operations teams to deliver optimal solutions.

You may also have a Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field, or possess a professional engineering license. Your experience with thermal and hydraulic modeling software like Cadence Reality/6Sigma, AFT Fathom, FloTherm, or ANSYS sets you apart. You are familiar with pipe stress analysis and are committed to ensuring compliance with codes and standards in your work.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Mechanical Engineer at Google, you will take on the challenge of designing and optimizing mechanical systems for our data centers. You will interface with the Global Commodities team, manufacturers, and various engineering teams to deliver mechanical, fire suppression, and plumbing solutions tailored to each project. Your role will involve maintaining internal design specifications, drawings, and standards to reflect the latest configurations.

You will be responsible for generating ideas and communicating recommendations to senior-level executives, driving implementation alongside facilities technicians. Your technical expertise will ensure that our data centers operate efficiently and sustainably, contributing to our mission of leveraging technology for a better future.
