Operations Manager • Lead

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 10 years of experience managing technical teams responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure. Your background includes 5 years in a data center or critical facilities environment, where you've honed your skills in mentoring and developing managers. You possess a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Reliability Engineering, or you have 8 years of data center operations and management experience. Your communication skills allow you to effectively engage with all levels of the organization, including senior executives, and you have direct or indirect people management experience in a technical field. You are familiar with reliability-centered maintenance and engineering, and you can forecast resource requirements in a data-driven manner.

What you'll do

As a Third Party Data Center Area Operations Manager, you will manage a team involved in nearly every aspect of colocation operations for critical infrastructure that supports both internal and external customers. You will partner with Google Data Center Engineering, Engineering Field Service, Network Infrastructure, and third-party data center vendors and operators, focusing on operability, maintainability, and reliability. Your responsibilities include overseeing technical and team leads to ensure the successful completion of required maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to maintain equipment to global standards. You will support the risk management program by escalating findings to ensure business awareness and provide prompt mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will travel to APAC 3PDC facilities as needed to ensure operational excellence.
