Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 5+ years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy industrial environment. Your expertise includes Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with a preference for certification in Six Sigma Black Belt. You have a strong background in data center operations or automotive production, and you understand the complexities of manufacturing processes in these sectors.
You are skilled in identifying design risks and ensuring product manufacturability through early DFx engagement and feasibility analysis. Your experience in data center cooling systems is a significant asset, allowing you to contribute effectively to the innovation behind Google's hardware solutions. You are a proactive problem solver who advocates for risk management and operational excellence.
What you'll do
As a Data Center Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the technical bridge between design innovation and operational reality. You will drive the product life-cycle from initial planning to mass production, ensuring that products meet manufacturing standards and capacity requirements. Your role will involve conducting feasibility analyses and identifying design risks before they reach the factory floor.
You will lead initiatives to improve operational excellence using Lean principles, such as PFEP (Plan For Every Part) and Value Engineering. Your responsibilities will include defining and validating test strategies and fixture designs, ensuring that all engineering changes are re-validated as needed. You will also be responsible for conducting Pareto Analysis and Root Cause Analysis (8D) for any manufacturing issues, advocating for risk management through leading PFMEAs with RPN reduction goals.
