Who you are

You have a Master's degree in a relevant Engineering field or equivalent practical experience, along with 20 years of experience as an engineering leader. Your background includes expertise in data center mechanical, electrical, power, plumbing, controls, and construction methods. You have at least 10 years of experience managing managers and are skilled in overseeing large organizations with distributed teams of over 100 individuals. You possess a deep understanding of industry trends and standards related to data centers and IT equipment, as well as a proven track record in designing and implementing sustainable goals.

What you'll do

As the Senior Director of Research and Development Engineering, you will create an outlook and lead the incubation and design for Google’s global data center components, from the utility to the IT rack. You will challenge the status quo, improving on current designs and optimizing for operating requirements and constraints. In this role, you will leverage Google’s unique strengths by partnering with Construction Delivery, Operations, Platforms, Supply Chain, and broader internal technical teams and external suppliers to analyze, align, and drive programs to completion. You will also collaborate, lead, and inspire design solutions that improve speed to capacity and lower costs while maintaining safety and security governance requirements. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and maintaining Google’s data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms.
