Who you are
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, and you have 8 years of experience in program management. Your background includes operational facilities management services, and you are comfortable managing cross-functional projects. You possess excellent budget management, agreement negotiation, time management, and organizational skills. You understand that a problem isnβt truly solved until itβs resolved for all, which aligns with Google's mission to create opportunities for everyone.
You may also have a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Management, which would further enhance your qualifications. Your experience operating submarine cable systems, including marine maintenance and cable landing station maintenance, sets you apart. You are adept at coordinating with Network Operation Centers and have a strong technical background that allows you to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll do
As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, specifically focusing on Cable Landing Stations and outside plant operations for the Indian Ocean region. You will oversee all aspects of building Cable Landing Stations, managing consortium-led projects, and coordinating with third-party vendors. Your role will involve planning requirements, identifying risks, managing project schedules, and ensuring clear communication with cross-functional partners across the company.
You will be responsible for keeping stakeholders informed about current work and discussing decisions and directions with them. Your leadership will guide technical and program team leads through the completion of required maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to maintain equipment to Google's global standards. You will also enhance processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
