Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. With 5 years of experience in NPI engineering program management, you have a strong background in developing consumer electronics and engineering management. You are skilled in working with cross-functional teams, including engineering and industrial/product design, particularly in module development and vendor management.
You hold a Masterβs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and have 10 years of experience shipping products in consumer electronics or other devices. Your experience includes managing functional engineering teams and collaborating with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners. You possess knowledge of device/hardware manufacturing, product design, device management, and the channel/partner ecosystem.
You are adept at leading operational initiatives and understand that a problem isnβt truly solved until itβs resolved for all. You are comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives while also discussing technical tradeoffs in product development.
What you'll do
As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You will identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution among a cross-functional team of engineers. Your role will involve generating ideas required to solve technical subjects and developing playbooks, tools, and processes to enhance engineering productivity.
You will own the technical relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners, ensuring that all aspects of the project align with Google's standards and objectives. You will be responsible for driving the project lifecycle, from initial concept through to product launch, ensuring that all deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations. You will also mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
