Overview

Google is hiring a Technical Program Manager for Automation Engineering to lead complex projects in the development of automated systems for consumer electronics. You'll work with NX and CAD tools, requiring 5 years of program management experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in program management or relevant process or product development experience with electro-mechanical products. Your background includes leading end-to-end project management, engaging in Design for Excellence (DFX) discussions, and implementing automated systems. You are familiar with return on investment analysis, SOW negotiations, vendor coordination, testing, and support.

Your experience extends to high-volume and high-precision consumer electronics, and you have worked with robotic manipulators, vision systems, and material handling systems. You have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and fixture development, along with the ability to generate functional requirements specifications. You are fluent with NX or other Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, and you have experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR), tolerance analysis, and statistical analysis.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will collaborate with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your role will involve overseeing the design and development of automation solutions in conjunction with manufacturing and automation partners. You will develop automation implementation schedules and oversee factory and site acceptance testing activities, ensuring that all projects meet the required specifications and quality standards.
