Your background includes 5 years of experience with design and architecture, as well as testing and launching software products. You possess a deep understanding of software architecture, software development, and Linux, and have experience in testing and Linux Administration. Your expertise extends to data structures and algorithms, and you have spent at least 5 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction. You thrive in a matrixed organization, collaborating on cross-functional projects, and have experience with network technologies and protocols related to unattended software installation and remote server management.

Desirable

A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field would be advantageous, as would 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. Your ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional projects is a key asset.

What you'll do

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will work on projects critical to Google Cloud's needs, focusing on machine installation. You will collaborate with software and firmware teams to ensure installation reliability and performance, meeting critical service level objectives (SLOs) for both internal and external customers. Your role will involve anticipating customer needs and acting with ownership to drive solutions. You will lead project teams, setting technical direction and ensuring that hardware problems are addressed effectively, providing sufficient telemetry to guide operations teams in hardware repairs.
