Who you are

You hold a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent practical experience, and you have experience with software development in one or more programming languages. You are familiar with data structures and algorithms, either in an academic or industry setting. If you have a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields, that’s a plus. You have experience developing accessible technologies and building web applications, which will be crucial in your role at Google.

You are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full-stack. You bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile technologies. You are eager to collaborate with a diverse team and contribute to projects that impact billions of users.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Google Photos team, you will work on critical projects that enhance how users connect and interact with their photos. You will collaborate with other engineers to continuously improve software components and architecture. Your responsibilities will include identifying technical problems with requirements and helping the team course-correct when necessary. You will utilize your communication skills to work closely with Product Managers, UX designers, and Quality Assurance teams to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs.

You will have opportunities to switch teams and projects as you grow and evolve within Google’s fast-paced environment. Your work will involve both client-side and server-side software development, ensuring that Google Photos remains one of the most sought-after products at Google.
