Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your background includes 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience in software design and architecture. You have a strong grasp of data structures and algorithms, with 8 years of experience in this area. You have also held a technical leadership role for at least 3 years, guiding project teams and setting technical direction in a complex, matrixed organization.

You are versatile and enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full-stack, and you bring fresh ideas from various domains, including distributed computing, large-scale system design, and artificial intelligence. Your leadership qualities shine as you influence and coach a distributed team of engineers, ensuring alignment and clarity across teams on goals and timelines.

Desirable

A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. Experience working on cross-functional or cross-business projects is a plus, as is familiarity with networking, data storage, security, and natural language processing.

What you'll do

In this role, you will work on specific projects critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions, ensuring that our users have the best and fastest experience possible. You will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, and facilitate alignment across teams.

You will be responsible for influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers, helping them grow and succeed in their roles. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet technical requirements and align with business goals. You will also be expected to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in software development, applying this knowledge to improve processes and outcomes.
