Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience programming in languages such as C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go. Your expertise includes 3 years of experience with relational database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle, and you have a strong background in designing and developing relational databases, including database internals, query processing, and query optimization.

You possess a Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, and have 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. Your experience includes 3 years in a technical leadership role, where you've led project teams and set technical direction in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to Cloud SQL, Google's fully-managed database service that supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server databases. You will drive complex technical projects, including planning and execution, while providing leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment. Your role will involve collaborating with partner teams and customers to shape the team vision and long-term strategy, as well as consulting and contributing to other initiatives within Cloud SQL and GCP databases.
