With at least 3 years of experience in systems automation, you have a solid understanding of systems design and implementation. Your background includes working with technical infrastructure, focusing on deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You have experience collaborating with vendors or customers, which enhances your ability to define distributed systems requirements and propose effective solutions.

You are skilled in observability practices, understanding the importance of measuring and monitoring systems to drive operational efficiency. Your experience with automation tools allows you to creatively solve problems and reduce toil in system management. You thrive in collaborative environments, valuing diverse perspectives and encouraging teamwork to achieve common goals. You are eager to learn and grow, seeking mentorship while also contributing to the development of tools and solutions that address systemic issues.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Knowledge of scripting languages, particularly Python, will further enhance your ability to automate processes and improve system performance.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage services and systems at scale, focusing on AI Infrastructure. You will be responsible for automating mundane tasks and developing tools that address classes of problems, ensuring operational efficiency across Google’s systems. Your work will involve instrumenting systems for observability, turning data into actionable insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and testing procedures.

You will respond to technical issues, evaluate data, and develop recommendations for systems and services within your domain. Your contributions will include responding to tickets and bugs within team-defined service-level objectives (SLOs), ensuring that systems operate smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and propose solutions that enhance their experience with Google’s infrastructure.
