Overview

Google is hiring a Technical Program Manager II to lead complex engineering projects in the Cloud Supply Chain domain. You'll manage cross-functional teams and ensure successful new product introductions in data center hardware. This position requires 2+ years of program management experience.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in program management. Your background includes working with product life-cycles in the data center hardware space, and you have experience supporting data centers and system-level new product introductions (NPI). You are adept at managing cross-functional or cross-team projects and have a solid understanding of data center operations, infrastructure management, or a similar technical domain.

Your expertise extends to hybrid cloud architectures and public cloud providers, and you possess knowledge of data center infrastructure components such as servers, machine learning, storage, power, and cooling. You can keep the big picture in focus while diving into unique engineering challenges, making you a valuable asset to any team.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You will plan requirements with internal customers and guide projects through the entire project lifecycle, managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders. You will be comfortable explaining analyses and recommendations to executives while discussing technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Your role will involve assessing risks and contributing to technical problem-solving, including resolving hardware/software issues during NPI phases. You will build and lead cross-functional program teams, ensuring alignment on goals and responsibilities. Identifying potential risks to program success, such as technical, schedule, and operational challenges, will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues arising during NPI.
