Your expertise in Python and machine learning allows you to develop robust AI systems that enhance robotic capabilities in manufacturing environments. You possess a deep understanding of data strategy and can effectively translate complex problems into actionable AI solutions.

Your experience includes working with industrial robots and sensors, and you are familiar with the challenges of high-mix manufacturing. You have a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineering and hardware deployment, to ensure that AI systems perform reliably in real-world applications. You value system ownership and are committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer needs.

Desirable

Experience with simulation and process optimization is a plus, as is familiarity with inspection and learning-based control techniques. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of robotics and AI.

What you'll do

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer at GrayMatter Robotics, you will join the Special Projects: AI team, where you will be responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing AI capabilities across GMR’s products. You will work end-to-end from problem formulation and data strategy to model development and deployment, ensuring that AI systems scale across processes and perform reliably in real factories.

You will collaborate closely with robotics software, solutions engineering, and applications teams to create application-specific turnkey solutions for customers. Your role will involve monitoring long-term performance and making iterative improvements to AI systems based on real-world data. You will also engage in research and development to explore new AI methodologies that can enhance the capabilities of GMR’s robots.
