Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in robotics engineering, specifically in software development for robotic systems. Your background includes developing algorithms and architectures that enhance the functionality of high-DOF robotic systems in manufacturing environments. You are comfortable working with physical robots, sensors, and tools, and you have a strong understanding of planning, learning, perception, and control in robotics. You are a generalist who can tackle various fundamental problems in robotics while also being able to dive deep into specific subjects when necessary. Your experience includes configuring and troubleshooting robust interfaces for high-bandwidth sensor data, ensuring low-latency performance in real-time applications.
You possess a solid foundation in computer vision and perception algorithms, utilizing multi-modal sensing for tasks such as 3D geometry reconstruction and segmentation. You are adept at developing and implementing systems that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of robotic operations in manufacturing settings. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with internal teams, contributing to the overall success of projects and initiatives.
Desirable
Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks is a plus, as it complements your robotics expertise. What you'll do
As a Senior Robotics Engineer: Software at GrayMatter Robotics, you will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms and systems for our robotic solutions. You will work closely with our development team to create application-specific turnkey solutions that integrate our proprietary GMR-AI™ software with state-of-the-art industrial robots and sensors. Your role will involve solving practical problems in robotics, focusing on enhancing the capabilities of our robots to assist shop floor workers effectively.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize algorithms that improve the performance of robotic systems in manufacturing environments. This includes developing low-latency interfaces for processing high-bandwidth sensor data, ensuring that our robots operate efficiently and reliably. You will also be involved in the testing and validation of your algorithms, iterating on designs based on real-world feedback and performance metrics.
Your work will directly impact the quality of life for manufacturing workers by reducing the physical strain associated with tedious tasks. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our robotic solutions, helping to increase production capacity while minimizing scrap, repair, and rework costs.
