You are an entry-level professional eager to kickstart your career in bug reporting and quality assurance. You have a keen analytical mindset and are comfortable working with logs, APIs, and stack traces to identify root causes of issues. Your ability to prioritize tasks based on impact will be crucial in this role, ensuring that the most critical bugs are addressed promptly.
You are familiar with project management tools like JIRA and understand how to manage a backlog effectively. Your communication skills allow you to negotiate with product managers and engineers to ensure that bugs are included in sprints and resolved in a timely manner. What you'll do
As a Global Bug Reporting Trainee at Groupon, you will own the global bug queue for B2B clients. Your primary responsibility will be to triage incoming bugs by analyzing logs, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and stack traces to determine their root causes. You will create minimal reproductions from vague client reports, ensuring that you capture the necessary details for effective troubleshooting.
You will prioritize bugs based on an impact score that considers severity, client count, and SLA risks. Managing the JIRA backlog will be a key part of your role, where you will utilize JQL queries, workflows, and dashboards to track bugs through to deployment. You will also negotiate with product managers and engineers to ensure that critical bugs are included in upcoming sprints, facilitating effective communication across teams.
