Security Engineer • Lead

Who you are

You have a strong background in security engineering with a focus on application security — you've led teams in developing secure software practices and understand the importance of integrating security into the software development lifecycle. Your experience includes working with cloud platforms like AWS and containerization technologies such as Docker, which you leverage to enhance security measures across applications.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Your leadership style fosters a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement within your team, ensuring that security is a shared responsibility.

What you'll do

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Security and take ownership of Headway's application security strategy. You will lead a team of engineers dedicated to implementing security best practices across all products and services. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining security policies, conducting security assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will also be responsible for driving initiatives that enhance the security posture of Headway's applications, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response planning. Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams, you will integrate security features into the development process, ensuring that security is considered at every stage of the product lifecycle.
