Overview

Hedra is hiring an Agentic Engineer to design and build systems for AI agents and workflows. You'll work with technologies like TypeScript, React, and Python. This position requires experience in building conversational agents and agentic systems.

Job Description

Who you are

You have built conversational agents or agentic systems leveraging foundation models at critical scale — your experience includes working with models like OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude, and you understand the intricacies of deploying these systems effectively. You possess a strong command of TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python, allowing you to create robust applications that integrate seamlessly with AI technologies.

Your familiarity with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and pydantic-ai sets you apart — you know how to implement tool calling and multi-agent orchestration, ensuring that the systems you build are not only functional but also efficient and scalable. You have a solid grasp of agent architecture, including tool/function calling and multi-agent orchestration, which enables you to design systems that can handle complex workflows.

Hands-on experience with agent evaluations, including trajectory evaluation and benchmarking, is part of your skill set — you understand the importance of rigorous evaluation practices in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of AI agents. You have integrated LLM-based systems into user-facing web products, demonstrating your ability to bridge the gap between backend systems and user experience.

Your background in a startup or 0→1 product environment means you thrive in dynamic settings where innovation is key — you are comfortable with ambiguity and are driven by the challenge of building something from the ground up. You are also familiar with conversation memory, context window management, and RAG, which enhances your ability to create sophisticated AI interactions.

Desirable

While not required, experience with agent-frontend protocols like AG-UI and SSE streaming would be a plus — you understand how to create seamless interactions between agents and users. A background in observability and monitoring for agentic systems will help you ensure that the systems you build are not only effective but also maintainable and reliable.

What you'll do

As an Agentic Engineer at Hedra, you will design, build, and scale the systems that power AI agents and agentic workflows — your work will directly contribute to the transformative products that Hedra offers to millions of creators. You will architect production-grade agent infrastructure that goes beyond simple API calls, ensuring that the systems you develop are robust and capable of handling complex tasks.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement tool calling and multi-agent orchestration, establishing rigorous evaluation practices to ensure the quality and reliability of the systems you build. Your expertise in frameworks like PydanticAI and AG-UI will be crucial as you work to create seamless user experiences that leverage the power of AI.

In this role, you will also be responsible for integrating LLM-based systems into user-facing web products, ensuring that the technology you develop enhances the overall user experience. You will engage in hands-on development, working with technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python to create innovative solutions that meet the needs of our users.

What we offer

Hedra provides competitive compensation and equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare options and a 401k plan. You will enjoy a collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued, and you will have the opportunity to work with leading models and technologies in the AI space. We encourage you to apply even if you don't fully meet all the listed requirements; we value potential and diverse perspectives, and your unique skills could be a great asset to our team.
