Hermeus is seeking a Senior Mechanisms and Landing Gear Engineer to design and develop complex mechanical systems for high-speed aircraft. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering and experience with aircraft systems.

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing and developing complex mechanical systems. Your experience includes working on high-speed aircraft or similar projects, where you have contributed to the success of innovative engineering solutions. You possess a deep understanding of mechanisms and landing gear systems, and you are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for aerospace engineering, ensuring that your designs meet rigorous standards for performance and safety.

Experience with the Department of Defense or similar organizations is a plus, as it demonstrates your ability to work in high-stakes environments. What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanisms and landing gear systems for high-speed aircraft. You will work closely with the Vehicle & Mechanisms Team to create innovative solutions that meet the demanding requirements of hypersonic flight. Your responsibilities will include conducting feasibility studies, developing prototypes, and performing rigorous testing to validate your designs. You will also collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure that your systems integrate seamlessly with the overall aircraft design.
You will lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas can flourish. Your expertise will be critical in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the development process. You will also be involved in documentation and reporting, ensuring that all engineering work is thoroughly recorded and compliant with industry standards.
