You are proactive in exploring engineering improvements and have a creative approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with backend systems, particularly in Scala, is a plus, as it allows you to understand the full stack of the applications you work on.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and review code for Hopper's HTS Checkout web frontend, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and performance. You will operate autonomously, yet closely collaborate with fellow engineers and product managers to ensure alignment on project goals. Your day-to-day will involve exploring engineering improvements for the team and the product, contributing to a culture that emphasizes asynchronous decision-making and minimal meetings. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative environment.
