You have extensive experience in reliability engineering, having led teams that prioritize operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Your background includes defining and implementing reliability strategies that align with business goals, ensuring that systems remain robust and resilient under pressure. You are passionate about leveraging AI to enhance operational capabilities and have a proven track record of reducing incidents and improving service levels.

You possess strong leadership skills, having successfully managed teams of engineers and fostered a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent, and you are committed to building career paths that keep your team engaged and motivated. Your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on reliability objectives.

What you'll do

As the Director of Reliability Engineering, you will lead a team of approximately 20 reliability engineers, guiding them in their efforts to enhance HubSpot's reliability capabilities. You will define and drive the reliability roadmap, balancing proactive investments in resilience with reactive incident management strategies. Your role will involve establishing company-wide SLO frameworks and incident management practices that are essential for maintaining customer trust.

You will be responsible for pioneering AI-assisted operations, transforming how the team detects, responds to, and prevents outages. This will involve collaborating with various engineering teams to integrate reliability practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring that reliability is a foundational aspect of HubSpot's platform.

You will also play a key role in mentoring and developing your team, fostering a culture of operational excellence and customer obsession. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the evolution of the Reliability Engineering team as it matures into a strategic pillar within HubSpot's Platform Infrastructure.
