Who you are
You are an experienced legal leader with a proactive approach to managing complex legal matters. With a strong background in product innovation, privacy, intellectual property, corporate governance, and commercial contracting, you have the expertise to navigate the legal landscape of a fast-growing tech company. You have a proven track record of establishing and scaling legal teams, and you thrive in dynamic environments where you can leverage outside counsel while building in-house capabilities.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively advise senior leadership and collaborate with various stakeholders. Your ability to think strategically and provide sound legal advice will be crucial as you guide the company through its growth phases. You are comfortable working independently and are eager to take on the challenge of building a legal function from the ground up.
What you'll do
In this role, you will head the legal function at Iru, advising on a wide range of legal matters that impact the company's operations and growth. You will work closely with the CFO and other executives to ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations while supporting product innovation and business objectives. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating contracts, managing intellectual property issues, and providing guidance on privacy matters.
As the first legal hire, you will have the opportunity to shape the legal strategy and build a high-performing legal team as the company expands. You will collaborate with outside counsel as needed, ensuring that the company has access to the necessary legal expertise while developing in-house capabilities over time. Your role will be pivotal in establishing a strong legal foundation that supports Iru's mission and growth trajectory.
