What you'll do

In this role, you will report to the Kong AI Gateway engineering lead and oversee the Shanghai engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to empower your team to govern every step of their AI and LLM-based innovation. You will hire and mentor engineers, ensuring they have a healthy work environment that values collaboration and innovation. You will manage work assignments and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to assure high-quality work and service level agreements (SLAs). Additionally, you will own the customer escalation system technically, collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to resolve issues effectively. You will set and manage expectations with other engineering teams and senior management, providing constructive feedback to engineers through regular one-on-ones. Your leadership will influence the culture of the team and facilitate technical delivery, ensuring that the company succeeds in its mission to enable API-first adoption and accelerate AI integration.
