Site Reliability Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering with at least 5 years of experience managing production systems at scale. Your expertise spans across cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure, and you are comfortable working with Kubernetes clusters and service mesh architectures. You thrive in environments where you can automate operations and continuously improve system performance and resilience.

You are proficient in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Helm, and you have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines. Your knowledge of database technologies, including PostgreSQL and Redis, allows you to design and optimize data layers for high availability and low latency. You understand the importance of security and reliability in SaaS offerings and are committed to maintaining these standards.

Desirable

Experience with monitoring and alerting tools is a plus, as is familiarity with service mesh technologies. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance.

What you'll do

In this role, you will operate and scale Kong's global SaaS platform, ensuring its reliability and performance across multiple regions and cloud environments. You will design, automate, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure, leveraging tools like Terraform and ArgoCD to streamline deployment workflows. Your responsibilities will include optimizing multi-region data and caching layers to support thousands of customers effectively.

You will work closely with engineering teams to improve Kong Gateway and Kong Mesh environments, ensuring they support hybrid and distributed architectures. Your role will also involve developing and maintaining CI/CD processes to enhance deployment efficiency and system reliability. You will be at the forefront of ensuring that Kong's offerings meet the highest standards of performance and security.
