Overview
LangChain is hiring a Product Manager for LangSmith to own key parts of the platform, focusing on observability and deployment for AI systems. You'll work closely with engineers and customers to enhance user experience and solve technical challenges. This position requires experience in product management and a strong understanding of AI technologies.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in product management, ideally with experience in AI or software development — you understand the intricacies of building products that require both user-centric design and robust technical infrastructure. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and customers sets you apart, allowing you to bridge the gap between user needs and engineering capabilities.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with engineers to develop features that are not only intuitive but also solve complex technical problems — whether it's debugging multi-step agent failures or designing scalable evaluation systems, you are adept at navigating these challenges. Your experience with observability and deployment platforms will be invaluable as you contribute to the LangSmith roadmap.
You are customer-focused and have a knack for gathering insights from users, from startups to enterprises — you know how to identify pain points and translate them into actionable product features. Your analytical mindset helps you prioritize effectively, ensuring that the most critical needs are addressed first.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the roadmap for a core area of the LangSmith platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize features that enhance the user experience. You will engage directly with customers to understand their workflows and identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring that the platform meets their evolving needs.
You will collaborate with engineers to build features that feel seamless while addressing deeply technical challenges — this includes versioning complex prompt chains and debugging multi-step agent failures. Your role will involve defining success metrics and conducting user research to validate your assumptions and guide product development.
You will also be responsible for coordinating with marketing and sales teams to ensure that product launches are successful and that the value of LangSmith is effectively communicated to potential users. Your insights will help shape the future direction of the product, making it a critical position within the organization.
What we offer
LangChain provides competitive compensation that includes a base salary ranging from $180,000 to $215,000, along with meaningful equity and comprehensive benefits such as health and dental coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, and life insurance. We believe in supporting our team members with locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations, especially for those in the EU and UK. Join us in our mission to make intelligent agents ubiquitous and be part of a team that is trusted by millions of developers worldwide.
