Overview

Lindblad Expeditions is hiring a Licensed Assistant Engineer to assist in the maintenance and operation of vessel systems onboard ships. This role is based in Seattle and requires the ability to work independently under pressure.

Who you are

You are an entry-level Electrical Engineer with a passion for maritime operations and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. You thrive in challenging environments and are capable of working independently without supervision. Your ability to handle pressure and adapt to changing situations makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You understand the importance of teamwork and communication in ensuring the smooth operation of vessel systems. You are eager to learn and grow in your engineering career, particularly in the field of expedition travel.

What you'll do

As a Licensed Assistant Engineer, you will assist the Chief Engineer in the maintenance, operation, and repair of all vessel systems onboard our ships. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that hotel equipment and other systems are functioning optimally. You will work a rotational schedule of approximately six weeks on and six weeks off, dedicating 12 hours each day to your duties. Your role is crucial in supporting the Chief Engineer and ensuring that our guests experience the exhilaration of discovery in some of the world’s most remote locations. You will be involved in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the vessel.
