Overview
Liquid AI is hiring a Member of Technical Staff - Distributed Training Engineer to build and optimize infrastructure for large-scale AI training. You'll work with technologies like Python, TensorFlow, and Kubernetes in San Francisco. This position requires experience in distributed systems.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in distributed systems, with a passion for tackling complex challenges that come with building robust and reliable infrastructure. Your experience includes debugging training failures across GPU clusters and optimizing performance for long training runs. You thrive in environments where ambiguity is common, making decisions with incomplete information and iterating quickly to find solutions. You find satisfaction in building systems from scratch, taking ownership of your work from day one. Your collaborative spirit aligns with team priorities, ensuring that you deliver impactful results.
Desirable
Experience with novel architectures and a desire to work on greenfield projects is a plus. Familiarity with AI model training and deployment will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
As a Distributed Training Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize the infrastructure that powers Liquid AI's next-generation foundation models. You will work closely with a small team, focusing on runtime, performance, and reliability, rather than general platform or SRE tasks. Your role will involve building critical systems from the ground up, ensuring they are stable and efficient. You will also be responsible for debugging issues that arise during training and improving the overall performance of the training infrastructure. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability and reliability of our AI systems, enabling us to meet the demands of our rapidly growing enterprise partnerships.
What we offer
Liquid AI provides a competitive base salary along with equity in a unicorn-stage company. We cover 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their dependents. Our financial benefits include a 401(k) matching program up to 4% of base pay. We also offer unlimited PTO and company-wide refill days throughout the year, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
