Overview
Liquid AI is hiring a Member of Technical Staff - Forward Deployed Engineer to work on customer engagements that generate revenue. You'll fine-tune Liquid Foundation Models for enterprise deployments across text, vision, and audio modalities. This position requires hands-on experience with modern AI architectures and techniques.
Job Description
Who you are
You have hands-on experience fine-tuning models using techniques like LoRA, PEFT, DPO, instruction tuning, or RLHF — you've written training loops and understand the intricacies of model performance. Your experience includes working with modern architectures, specifically models released in the last 12-18 months, such as Llama 3.x, Mistral, Gemma, and Qwen, rather than just classical ML models like BERT.
You are skilled in generating and curating training data — you've created synthetic training data to address specific model failure modes and understand how data quality drives model performance. You debug methodically, approaching model issues with a systematic mindset, ensuring that you can identify and resolve failure modes effectively.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work directly on customer engagements that generate revenue, taking ownership of technical delivery from start to finish. You will fine-tune Liquid Foundation Models for enterprise deployments, ensuring that you meet quality and latency targets on real hardware. This is not just API wrapper work; you will be deeply involved in the technical aspects of model fine-tuning, data generation, and deployment.
You will collaborate closely with customers to understand their data and constraints, ensuring that the solutions you deliver are tailored to their specific needs. Your work will involve debugging failure modes and deploying models to devices with real latency and memory constraints, making your contributions critical to the success of the projects.
What we offer
Liquid AI provides a competitive base salary along with equity in a unicorn-stage company. We cover 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their dependents. Additionally, we offer a 401(k) matching program up to 4% of base pay, unlimited PTO, and company-wide Refill Days throughout the year to promote work-life balance.
