You have a strong background in data science, with experience in developing algorithms and mathematical models that drive business decisions. Your expertise in machine learning and optimization allows you to tackle complex problems effectively. You are proficient in Python and have a solid understanding of statistical modeling techniques. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and product managers to frame problems and develop solutions. You are comfortable performing exploratory data analysis to gain insights and inform your work. You understand the importance of writing production-quality code and can collaborate with software engineers to implement algorithms in a production setting.
Desirable
Experience with real-time data processing and optimization problems in a ridesharing or similar industry would be a plus. Familiarity with additional programming languages or data analysis tools can enhance your candidacy. A passion for improving user experiences through data-driven insights is highly valued.
What you'll do
As a Data Scientist at Lyft, you will be part of a cross-functional team focused on enhancing algorithms that match rideshare supply and demand in real time. You will leverage data and analytic frameworks to direct the creation and improvement of algorithms and models that underpin the teamβs systems and products. You will partner with engineers, product managers, and business partners to frame problems both mathematically and within the business context. Your role will involve performing exploratory data analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the problems at hand. You will construct and fit statistical, machine learning, or optimization models to address various challenges. Writing production modeling code is a key responsibility, and you will collaborate with software engineers to ensure successful implementation of algorithms in production. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of product offerings that enhance the experiences of Lyft riders and drivers.
What we offer
Lyft offers a competitive salary range for this position in the Seattle area, which is $128,000 to $160,000, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to salary, you will have access to potential equity offerings, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.
