Who you are

You have a strong passion for Identity and Access Management (IAM) and proven expertise in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS. With at least 5 years of experience in IAM, you have a deep understanding of identity governance, privileged access management, and access controls. You are skilled in designing and implementing IAM strategies that align with cloud-first architectures and security principles. Your technical leadership experience enables you to guide a team of Identity Security Engineers effectively, fostering a collaborative environment where innovation thrives.

You are adept at integrating IAM across various platforms, including AWS services and SaaS applications. Your knowledge of automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices allows you to streamline identity provisioning and access reviews. You understand the importance of securing AI/ML systems and have experience designing identity controls that protect sensitive data and models. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

Experience with tools like Okta and familiarity with DevOps pipelines are a plus. You have a track record of successfully expanding IAM programs and operationalizing capabilities such as Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Your ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable asset to any team.

What you'll do

As the Manager of Identity Security at Marqeta, you will lead the implementation of robust IAM strategies that secure access across all systems and services. You will be responsible for building and evolving the Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) capabilities, ensuring that access management processes are efficient and effective. Your role will involve designing and architecting a Certificate Lifecycle Management solution that supports cloud-native workloads, as well as driving the integration of IAM across AWS services and third-party identity tools.

You will provide technical and managerial leadership to a team of 5 to 6 Identity Security Engineers, guiding them in their professional development and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Your expertise will be crucial in automating identity provisioning, de-provisioning, and access reviews using modern tools and practices. You will also design identity and access controls to protect AI/ML systems, ensuring secure access to training data, models, and inference APIs.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to align IAM strategies with business objectives and security principles. You will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of IAM programs, making data-driven decisions to enhance security posture. Your contributions will directly impact the security and scalability of Marqeta's cloud-native environment, helping to build a frictionless IAM program that meets the needs of the organization.
