Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in product management, particularly in security or related fields — you understand the nuances of data security and how it can be a market differentiator for enterprise solutions. Your background includes working closely with engineering, legal, and marketing teams to ensure that product features align with customer needs and business objectives.
You possess a deep understanding of data security technologies and trends — you stay updated on evolving threats and best practices, allowing you to propose innovative solutions that enhance data protection. Your analytical skills enable you to define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the success of security initiatives.
You are a strong communicator and collaborator — you can effectively partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product marketing, and sales, to deepen customer trust in MongoDB's security offerings. Your ability to translate complex security concepts into understandable terms helps bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You are results-driven and customer-focused — you leverage customer feedback to inform product decisions and prioritize features that deliver real value. Your strategic mindset allows you to build a vision for best-in-class data security features that align with MongoDB's broader goals.
Desirable
Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations related to data security would be a plus — you understand the importance of adhering to industry standards and can guide product development accordingly. Familiarity with cloud security practices and technologies is also beneficial, as MongoDB operates in a cloud-centric environment.
What you'll do
As a Senior Product Manager on the Security team, you will lead the development of innovative data security features that set MongoDB apart in the market. You will build a vision for features such as Queryable Encryption and Atlas Security, ensuring they meet the needs of enterprise customers and comply with regulatory requirements.
You will collaborate with engineering teams to define product specifications and oversee the development process — your role will involve prioritizing features based on customer feedback and market research, ensuring that the product roadmap aligns with business objectives.
You will engage with customers to gather insights and understand their security challenges — your ability to translate these insights into actionable product improvements will be key to enhancing customer satisfaction and trust in MongoDB's offerings.
You will define and track success metrics for security initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals — your analytical skills will help you assess the impact of new features and make data-driven decisions for future developments.
You will work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure that all security features adhere to relevant regulations and standards — your understanding of compliance will help mitigate risks associated with data security.
What we offer
MongoDB provides a competitive salary range for this role in Canada, between $173,000 and $240,000 CAD, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage. You will have access to mental health counseling and a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with employer match, ensuring your well-being and financial security.
You will join a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration — MongoDB fosters an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are encouraged, and you will have opportunities for professional growth and development.
In this role, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the security landscape of MongoDB's products, helping to shape the future of data security in enterprise environments.
