You'll leverage your expertise in networking and distributed systems, working with technologies like Kubernetes and TCP/IP. This role requires 6+ years of experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 6 years of experience working on software and operating distributed systems, with a strong foundation in networking fundamentals. Your deep understanding of how the internet works, including TCP/IP (with a focus on IPv6), DNS, and TLS/mTLS, sets you apart as a candidate. You thrive in environments where you can leverage your expertise in networking and distributed systems to ensure systems are resilient, scalable, and reliable.

You are passionate about building and maintaining critical infrastructure and operational functions that support broader engineering organizations. Your experience with multi-cloud-provider Kubernetes infrastructure and deployment machinery is extensive, and you understand the importance of observability and alerting systems in maintaining system health. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling complex challenges and ensuring customer data remains safe in transit.

You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and have a track record of developing and maintaining reliable, globally connected multi-cloud networks. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable team member. You are eager to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Desirable

Experience with edge load balancing and service mesh technologies would be a plus. Familiarity with security practices related to network architecture is also desirable. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance the team's capabilities and improve system performance.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on the Fabric team, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the robust infrastructure necessary for secure and efficient communication between services. You will leverage your expertise in networking and distributed systems to ensure that our systems are resilient, scalable, and reliable. Your responsibilities will include managing the infrastructure that enables secure communication between systems and from the public internet, focusing on network architecture, service mesh, and edge load balancing.

You will work closely with other engineers to develop and maintain the multi-cloud-provider Kubernetes infrastructure that supports MongoDB products. Your role will involve designing and implementing solutions that enhance the reliability and performance of our systems. You will also be responsible for monitoring system health and performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to optimize operations.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will partner with various teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the organization. You will participate in incident management and response, helping to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and security of our services, ensuring that customer data remains safe in transit.
