You have extensive experience in robotics and software development, particularly in the context of autonomous vehicles. As a Principal Engineer, you have a proven track record of leading teams and delivering production-ready solutions that prioritize safety and passenger comfort. Your expertise in motion planning algorithms and control systems enables you to make critical architectural decisions that drive the success of your projects.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including Localization, Perception, Prediction, Controls, ML Products, and Systems Engineering. Your leadership style emphasizes mentorship and development, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within your team. You are passionate about solving complex real-world problems and are eager to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving field of autonomous driving.

Desirable

Experience with advanced motion planning techniques and a strong understanding of the challenges involved in autonomous vehicle navigation are highly desirable. Familiarity with metrics-driven development approaches will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As the Technical Lead Manager on the Planning team, you will direct a group of engineers focused on the design and implementation of motion planning software. Your responsibilities will include defining the motion planning and control systems that enable the fleet to operate securely and effectively in intricate settings. You will lead the development of cutting-edge motion planning algorithms, ensuring that safety is prioritized throughout the design, prototyping, testing, deployment, and production phases.

Your role will involve mentoring engineers, guiding them in their professional development, and helping them deliver state-of-the-art solutions.
