Overview
Mural is hiring an Engineering Manager for their Engagement team to lead the development of features that enhance team collaboration. You'll work closely with Product and Design to drive user engagement metrics. This role requires strong technical leadership and experience managing engineering teams.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams, ideally with experience in user engagement and product development. You understand the importance of metrics in driving product success and have a hands-on approach to technical execution. Your leadership style fosters a culture of accountability and outcome orientation within your team.
You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product and Design. Your experience with globally distributed teams and async-first collaboration makes you adept at managing remote work dynamics. You are passionate about creating features that enhance user experience and drive recurring engagement.
What you'll do
As the Engineering Manager for Engagement, you will own the systems that drive recurring usage and team expansion at Mural. You will lead a team of approximately five engineers, guiding them in shipping features that measurably increase daily active users (DAU) and monthly active users (MAU). Your role will involve establishing clear ownership of conversion metrics and ensuring that your team is focused on outcomes rather than just output.
You will drive technical execution on high-impact features, such as improving comments and threading functionalities, simplifying sharing flows, and enhancing notifications and recommendations. Staying hands-on with the technical work will be crucial, as you will provide meaningful direction to your team while maintaining accountability for the quality of what ships.
What we offer
Mural offers a collaborative and inclusive work environment where you can make a significant impact on user engagement. You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the Engagement team and work on features that directly influence user retention and growth. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
