Who you are

You have 5-6 years of relevant experience in apparel buying, planning, or merchandising β€” you've successfully managed product categories and understand the intricacies of vendor relationships and inventory management. Your educational background includes a degree from NIFT or another reputed institution, which has equipped you with the foundational knowledge needed for this role.

You possess a self-starter mindset and are adept at creative problem-solving β€” you thrive in environments where you can take initiative and drive results. Your analytical skills are proven, particularly in working with Excel and other analytical platforms, allowing you to make data-driven decisions that enhance category performance.

You are skilled at multitasking and critical thinking β€” managing multiple brands and categories simultaneously is second nature to you. You understand the importance of collaboration and can effectively liaise with various teams, including pricing and marketing, to achieve business objectives.

Desirable

Experience in business development is a plus, as you will help onboard new vendors and brands. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and sales optimization strategies will further enhance your ability to succeed in this role.

What you'll do

As a Lead Associate in Category Management at Myntra, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of brands, actively pursuing category management through vendor management, pricing, and inventory optimization. Your role will involve planning selection and inventory relevant for Myntra, ensuring that the products meet customer demand while maximizing profitability.

You will devise competitive pricing and promotional strategies in collaboration with relevant teams, aiming to deliver the expected topline and bottom line for your portfolio. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors will be crucial, as you work to scale the brands and categories on the platform.

Your responsibilities will also include managing inventory levels to maximize sales, procuring additional stock when necessary, and eliminating excess or unwanted inventory. You will be involved in commercial closures, working towards a P&L view of the business and the category, ensuring that all financial aspects are aligned with the company's goals.
