Navan is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to manage month-end close activities and ensure accurate revenue recognition. You'll work with GAAP and ASC 606 standards in Palo Alto or San Francisco.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelorβs degree in accounting or finance and ideally hold a CPA license. With over 3 years of experience in revenue accounting, you possess strong technical accounting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You are committed to process improvement and automation, ensuring that financial data is processed accurately and efficiently. You thrive in a team environment and are flexible in adapting to changing priorities and projects.
Your expertise in GAAP and ASC 606 allows you to ensure compliance and accuracy in revenue recognition. You are detail-oriented and excel in processing large amounts of financial data, always challenging the status quo when discrepancies arise. You have a strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance, which you apply diligently in your work.
Desirable
Experience with revenue recognition cycles and familiarity with audit processes are highly desirable. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Operations, and IT, to ensure that the data relied upon for revenue accounting is complete and accurate. Your ability to drive process improvements and automations will enhance the efficiency and scalability of the revenue recognition cycle.
What you'll do
As a Senior Revenue Accountant at Navan, you will own crucial month-end close activities, preparing and posting monthly journal entries for revenue and revenue-related transactions. You will ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP while preparing monthly account reconciliations to guarantee accurate reporting. Supporting both external and internal audits, you will provide necessary documentation, analysis, and explanations of revenue-related transactions.
You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure that the data used for revenue accounting is reliable and accurate. Your role will involve driving process improvements and automations within the revenue recognition cycle, enhancing overall efficiency and scalability. You will also ensure the appropriate application of internal controls related to the revenue cycle, maintaining SOX compliance.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will provide revenue reporting and analysis to senior leadership and other stakeholders, contributing to informed decision-making within the organization. Your flexibility and adaptability will be key as you navigate changing priorities and projects, ensuring that team goals are met effectively.
What we offer
Navan offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $135,000 USD, reflecting the importance of this role within our organization.
