Database Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a minimum of 6 years of experience as a SQL DBA, with a strong understanding of database management, installation, configuration, and capacity planning. Your expertise includes resolving critical database monitoring incidents and ensuring high availability through failover clusters and availability groups. You are flexible and willing to work in a 24/7 environment, having done so in your previous roles, and you possess excellent communication skills to interact with international customers.

You hold a Bachelor's degree in any stream, with a preference for B. Tech., BCA, or MCA. Your educational background includes a minimum of 15 years of regular education, which has equipped you with the foundational knowledge necessary for this role. You are familiar with ITIL processes and have a solid grasp of backup and database recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.

Desirable

Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS is preferred, as is knowledge of T-SQL or PowerShell scripting. You are well-versed in SQL Server best practices, performance optimization, and tuning, which are critical for maintaining efficient database operations. Your understanding of multi-Geo support environments enhances your ability to manage databases across different geographical locations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for managing SQL Server instances, including planning and executing patching, upgrades, and migrations. You will monitor database performance and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and reliability. Your duties will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve database-related issues and ensure seamless operations.

You will lead initiatives to enhance database security and performance, working closely with international clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. Your role will require you to document processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will also mentor junior DBAs, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their professional growth.
